Competex provides a stand-alone payroll service for clients who may not wish to take the full accounting package. This service is suitable for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and limited liability partnerships.
We will ensure your payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner, whilst ensuring full legislative compliance in all PAYE and auto enrolment related matters.
We can process your payroll on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, with monthly being the most common amongst clients.
We understand that your employee salary payments may fluctuate, which is why we offer variable payroll to suit your needs.

Every organisation is unique, and our payroll team works closely with you to truly understand the nature and needs of your business. We will calculate your salary for you, ensuring your tax and NI obligations are paid to HMRC on time and in the correct format under the Real Time Information (RTI) legislation. We will also keep you updated on any new legislation that might affect your payroll, such as the Employment Allowance and Auto Enrolment.
Auto Enrolment
Auto enrolment is a government initiative designed to help people save for their retirement, with contributions being paid by both the employee and the employer. Most employers in the UK have a mandatory duty to enrol their employees into an auto enrolment pension scheme, and there are strict penalties for non-compliance.
If your company has two directors and neither has either a written or verbal contract of employment, then you do not have auto-enrolment duties. However, if the company has employees, then you do have auto-enrolment duties relating to the employees.
The auto enrolment module is provided in addition to our standard payroll service. This includes advice on your auto enrolment duties, assessing your staff, calculating contributions, providing compulsory staff communications and processing opt outs, opt ins, postponements and joiners and leavers, all as is required by the legislation.
