Charles Fowler is the
principal director of Competex.
Born in 1947, Charles trained with Price Waterhouse in London
and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1972. After qualifying,
he spent two years in the firm's Special Services Department,
looking after a large number of newly incorporated and small
business clients. Since then he has worked as a financial director
in the printing industry and later in commodities. Charles obtained
his accountancy Practising Certificate in 1983.
In the City of London, Charles served in the TA with the Honourable
Artillery Company from 1969 to 1985 and since retiring from the
TA, served on the Court of Assistants of the Honourable Artillery
Company for some years. He is now a member of the Company of
Pikeman and Musketeers which carries out ceremonial duties in
the City by royal warrant. He is also a liveryman and member
of the Court of Assistants of Stationers Company.
Charles is chairman of the St John Council
for Surrey and President of the Redhill and District Division
of St John's Ambulance. Particular interests are military history
and medal collecting. He has been married since 1972 and has
a son born in 1978 and a daughter born in 1984. |
